First Friday Uptown ArtWalk
First Friday ArtWalk returns on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6-9 PM. Make this self-guided tour of Uptown galleries, restaurants and retail a regular highlight on your social calendar! This event draws a more mature audience, however all ages are welcome. It's a great opportunity to spend time Uptown and meet local artists. Check out the NEW 2012 First Friday Uptown ArtWalk Map for participating venues, the trolley route, First Friday specials and more. Check it out Inside & Out!

Uptown Umbrella Market

Join us at the Five Points Plaza Wednesdays from 5-8 PM for the Uptown Umbrella Market. The market is held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5-8pm weekly from May through August. You'll find fresh produce, seafood, artisan cheeses, handmade arts, jewelry, antiques, vintage items, homemade ice cream and yogurt, local craft brew and more!

Uptown Greenville Begins Search for Executive Director
Uptown Greenville's current Executive Director, Denise Walsh, announced recently that she will be leaving the position effective April 20. Walsh will be relocating with her family to the Outer Banks where she will serve as Business Manager for the NC Aquarium at Roanoke Island. Walsh has served as Executive Director since 2007. Prior to this role, Walsh served as a volunteer member of the Uptown Greenville Board's Executive Committee for two and a half years. The Search Committee is currently seeking qualified applicants.

Facade Improvment Grant Program
Owners and tentants of Center City properties are encouraged to apply. A rolling application is now in place. If you are a property or business owner in the Center City/Uptown District interested in learning more about this $5,000 per facade matching program, please contact Seth Laughlin at 329.4486 in the Community Development Department for more information, and click here for more details.
