6-6:30 PM Uptown Tree Lighting Ceremony

Uptown Greenville and the City of Greenville invite you to a special holiday tree lighting.  Enjoy a reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Mayor Pat Dunn, carols, hot chocolate and cookies, and treat bags for the children provided by Recreation and Parks.  Following the ceremony, families are invited to follow the carolers Uptown to Emerge Gallery & Art Center for holiday craft activities.  Visit www.uptowngreenville.com for details. 6 - 9 PM Uptown Holiday ArtWalk

Enjoy holiday lights and sights Uptown during the Holiday ArtWalk on the eve of the Greenville' Jaycees's Christmas Parade!  Tour Uptown galleries and businesses and enjoy light refreshments and carols along the way.  Visit www.uptowngreenville.com for details. Free!

Thanks to all who came Uptown for the Uptown Holiday Celebration. We enjoyed a busy weekend starting with the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday evening. Many thanks to Mayor Dunn and her helper Calvin Mercer, for a special reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, to the singers from The Magnolia Belles and from the ECU Musical Theatre Department for creating a festive atmosphere. To Public Works staff for lighting Uptown with LED lights Uptown Greenville purchased last year, to Recreation and Parks for providing holiday craft bags for children, to Starbucks for providing hot chocolate and coffee, and to Mary Fedash, former owner of Cafe Europa, for providing over 200 homemade sugar cookies for the tree-lighting ceremony! Thanks to Emerge Gallery and Art Center for opening their doors for free holiday crafts for children following the tree lighting ceremony.
