GREENVILLE, NC— Plan to join the region’s most influential business, arts, government, and community leaders to celebrate Greenville’s center city. Uptown Greenville will host the 5th Annual State of the District event on Wednesday, March 6, from 5:00-8:00pm at the Martinsborough. The event will be a time to celebrate the growth and transformation of the district and to ignite excitement for what is to come.

The evening will feature updates on major district initiatives. Keynote speaker, Juanita Hardy, a former IBM Executive and Senior Visiting Fellow for Creative Placemaking at the Urban Land Institute (ULI), will present on creative placemaking – employing art, culture, and design in real estate development and community revitalization.

Hardy is the former Executive Director of CulturalDC, a nonprofit committed to making space for the arts and fostering cultural and economic vibrancy in communities through its creative placemaking services. While at CulturalDC, she worked closely with area developers to integrate arts and culture into development projects across the D.C. area.
