GREENVILLE, N.C. – Dickinson Avenue has welcomed a nationally acclaimed axe throwing social house to the Uptown district. FORD+SHEP owners Brandon and Taylor Qualls have embarked on their next venture with the opening of Stumpy’s Hatchet House.

Taylor’s aunt and uncle, Trish and Mark Oliphant, along with friends Stuart and Kelly Josberger, are owners of the franchise. One night while the girls were preparing dinner, and the boys were out back chopping wood for the fire, led to the creation of an impromptu game of throwing the axe to a makeshift bullseye on some log rounds from a tree that came down during Superstorm Sandy. Recognizing the games’ potential, the Josbergers and the Oliphant’s brought the game to life by taking it indoors and incorporating a target. You could call it a happy axe-ident.

When not throwing, friends are invited to gather in the common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. While you are welcome to order food in, snacks, beverages and ice are on site for purchase! The location features a “Wood Shed” party room that provides a space to host large groups for various events.

“We are enthusiastic to bring a new entertainment option to the area. “Axe anyone you know, with the many new additions in the central business district and now, Stumpy’s Hatchet House, the Uptown District is evolving into an exciting entertainment destination,” said the Qualls.

This BYOB franchise has locations across the US; first in Eatontown, NJ and now in Austin, San Antonio, Tampa, and Greenville, NC. The Greenville location is now open at 816 Dickinson Avenue. Make your reservations at https://greenvillenc.stumpyshh.com
